Zermatt Snow Report 19/03/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Zermatt
There is 245cm of snow at the top of the Zermatt ski area with 35cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on 18th March with around 15cm falling.
There are 100% of pistes open in the Zermatt ski area with 45 out of 54 ski lifts open.
Light snow is scheduled for the next two days, to boost the heavy snow that fell from Thursday through to Tuesday mornings. Skies are then set to clear for the rest of the week, for heavier snow set to fall from Saturday onwards. Temperatures are set to remain mild for the next few days with temperatures hovering around -5. Winds are set to remain low.
Ski conditions are currently fantastic in Zermatt, with heavy snowfall on Sunday not only refreshing runs but giving them a healthy powder topping. Main pisted runs are a joy to ski on currently, with powder conditions providing less experienced skiers a perfect opportunity to have a go at a few little easy bumps, with more experienced skiers making the most of itinerary runs and off piste. For when the weather closes in Sunegga Mountain is a brilliant place to go, with tree lined runs protecting you from the bad weather. Runs guests are enjoying on Ski hosting tours are RED 15, 9, 28 and BLUE 7, 14 and 90.
