Zermatt Snow Report, 18 Jan 2011

ZermattSnow – top of ski area:   102cm top of the Klein Matterhorn lift

Snow depth in resort:   15cm

Conditions, considering it has not snowed in a few days, are absolutely fantastic. I don’t think you could currently ask for better snow on the pistes. There is an abundance of fresh snow to be found all over the mountain. But perhaps some of the best skiing as you would expect can be found on the glacier. Here the two red runs down are in great condition and with the excellent weather we are having at the moment they are an absolute joy to ski!!

The weather today is set to be beautiful and the following couple of days we are expecting some snow showers.

The world famous Après ski bar ‘The Hennu Stall’ has certainly kicked off now! Last week saw the first week that the band played and they will be continuing to play every Wednesday for the rest of the season and it is well worth going for at least one song, although most people end up staying longer!! Also this Wednesday there is moonlight skiing on the Gornegraat, you can go up on the train and enjoy a drink at the restaurant. Then there is a guided descent using on the light from the full moon!
