Zermatt Snow Report 12/04/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Zermatt
There is 230cm of snow at the top of the Zermatt ski area with 20cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on 8th April with around 12cm falling.
There are 100% of pistes open in the Zermatt ski area with 83% ski lifts open.
Weather is varied over the next three days, following a similar pattern to that of the last few weeks. Sunshine days flash between consistent snowfall. Temperatures are set to rise from -7 to -4, with light winds of 5-10km/h.
Ski conditions are still fantastic in resort, with unseasonably good snow all over resort. Consistent snow with a low melt rate means that we are still experiencing powder conditions, especially higher up the mountain. Lower down in the afternoon is still a huge amount of fun, with snow becoming a little stickier offering those on big powder or carving skis a fun challenge towards the end of the day. These conditions are perfect for those wanting to have a go on little bumps, so make the most of every snow condition going throughout the day! Runs that hosts are enjoying on ski hosting tours are RED 15, 19,7 and BLUE 38, 7, and ITALY 7.
From the 9th of April to the 13th Zermatt is presenting the festival Zermatt unplugged. This event includes various live bands such as Stefanie Heinzmann, Die Fantastischen Vier and Brian Ferry. Spme of these bands are actually for free, other tickets are available from the ticket stands in
town. This event is a success every year, something which should not be missed! Be sure to also check out the many sales also going on in resort at the moment, with some fantastic deals for you to get your hands on for the next season.
