Zermatt Snow Report, 08 Feb 2011
The on-piste conditions are exceptional at the moment even without a large amount of fresh snow. One of the positives about Zermatt is the altitude of the resort, its height above sea level means that the snow is preserved fantastically due to the cold weather. This means that on the Glacier the skiing is exceptional and there is even a slight dusting of fresh snow on the pistes themselves.
The weather for the next couple of days is set to be clear and sunny, but still remaining cold keeping the pistes in great condition.
The resort is starting to get excited about the famous Luttman Johnson race organised by the Ski Club of Great Britain. Tomorrow is race day and there are a large number of extra people in resort here just for the race. I’ve got my costume ready, with me and my team mate going as Woody and Buzz from Toy Story! Also this week in The Pink bar, located in the Hotel Post we have a week of live music from Joyce Hurley and Friends, a jazz band all the way from America.
