Zermatt Snow Report, 04 Jan 2011

ZermattSnow – top of ski area:   205cm at the top of the Klein Matterhorn Paradise!

Snow depth in resort:   25cm

Conditions early on in the day are fantastic, there is still some excellent snow coverage even though it hasnt snowed for a week. One of our favourite runs from the top of the glacier all the way down to Zermatt has excellent snow conditions and is also a good challenging ski. It compromises some wide cruisey blues and reds and a black run all the way down on run No.70. Another fantastic run is the world famous run over in Cervinia which is the longest pisted run in Europe, but don’t try it without a lunch stop.
It is 22km long!

It is going to be clear skies for the next few days, but towards the end of the week there is snow expected through to the weekend.

It would seem that our famous friends from last week have been raving about Zermatt and telling some of their friends. Ex Arsenal and Barcelona footballer Thierry Henry is currently enjoying himself in resort. Even though New Year and Christmas is behind us that is not the case for everyone. Russian Christmas in on Thursday and town is full of people here who have decided to spend their Christmas here, there is certainly still a good buzz around town.
