VIDEO OF THE WEEK | MEGAVALANCHE 2016

Ever wondered what goes on in those bustling ski resorts during the summer?

Whilst some are quieter than others, many are pretty busy with extreme runners, climbers and of course mountain bikers. One of the highlights of the biking calendar – Megavalanche recently took place in Alpe d’Huez.

The race is essentially from top to bottom as quickly as possible. Competitors ride around 30km, descending 2000m in the process. With the top riders finishing in times under 40 minutes, the speed is pretty rapid!

The start of the race with around 2700 riders scrambling on the snowy peak resembles some form of organised carnage, and is definitely worth a watch…
