Verbier snow report 29.01.2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Verbier.

There is 220cm of snow at the top of the Verbier ski area with 83cm in resort. The last snowfall was 20cm that  fell yesterday.

All 177km of pistes are open with 28 of the 39 Verbier lifts open.

After last weeks drop in temperature, this week has got relatively warmer, and after a 10cm dump yesterday morning, it was a full blown powder day for everyone skiing on the mountain. Today and the next few days will be no different, combined with the bright sunshine and slight rise in temperature the conditions this week are perfect and empty pistes only add the cherry on top of the cake this week. Weekdays, especially when the sun has been out, have been glorious with great pistes and a quiet ski area to carve until your heart is content. All the ski area is currently open. The off piste links from Chassoure and Gentianes to Tortin have been in very good condition recently, definitely a must do while you’re here. The next few days are forecast to be excellent, Wednesday is the best day of the week, with fresh powder covering the pistes from yesterday and bright sunshine with not a cloud in sight, maybe a day to even get the sun screen out.
