Verbier Snow Report 26/02/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Verbier
There is 275cm of snow at the top of the Verbier ski area with 120cm in resort. The last snowfall was on Sunday with 4cm of fresh snow falling.
All 177km of pistes are open in the Verbier ski area with all 35 ski lifts also open.
Bitterly cold temperatures both up the mountain and in the town of Verbier have swept in from the Siberian plains and brought a very stiff breeze. This cold front of weather that we have been having is keeping the snow cold and fresh for as long as possible until our next dump, areas such as Lac du Veux will be keep particularly nice due to the frozen lake there keeping temperatures and snow cool there. This will be a great area to ski in especially as the week is predicted to only brighten up as we head towards a very sunny weekend. The off piste runs of Gentianes and Chasso which both end up at Tortin, are super challenging but the snow is in great condition and so cold that you are able to turn really quickly and precisely on the bump filled areas. Mont Gele is also in really good condition for those who want low risk and high scare factor skiing. The weather prediction for the next three days in resort looks set to be a week of bright sunshine and blue skies right to the weekend
