Verbier Snow Report 23 Mar 2012

Verbier, SwitzerlandOn the Col de Gentianes at the top of the ski area, the snow base has reached 275cm whilst the home runs have 125cm.

Superb spring sunshine has returned to the 4 Valleys after last weekends surprise snowfall. The snow is holding well despite the soaring temperatures, which means excellent sunbathing as well as excellent skiing! To really get the best of the snow try and stay high; the Col de Gentianes and La Tzoumaz are good places to start though for something a little bit off the beaten track, take the ski bus over to Bruson where you’ll find deserted slopes, untouched powder and sublime tree runs. If you’re heading out to Verbier this weekend, expect some disruption to the free ski busses until Monday due to the Verbier Xtreme taking place, though be sure not to miss the event itself!

The sunshine is set to continue well in to next week, though some snow may fall on Sunday to freshen up the slopes.

The Verbier High Five event takes place between the 30th-31st of March. Covering five different disciplines including giant slalom, boarder cross, moguls, parallel slalom and a mock triathlon and is open to skiers, boarders and telemarkers. The event is open to everyone and gives you the perfect opportunity to test yourself against the pros!
