Verbier snow report 05/02/2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Verbier.

There is 208cm of snow at the top of the Verbier ski area with 120cm in resort. The last snowfall was yesterday with around 30cm falling.

170 of the 117km of pistes are open here in Verbier with 25 of the 39 ski lifts open also.

The only words to describe the snow conditions at the moment is pure powder, over the past few days the resort has had over 30 cm of fresh snow which has created a blanket over the mountain. Runs such as Tortin have thigh-high moguls, as do the rest of the un-bashed itinery runs. The recent snow-fall along with the empty pistes are creating the most fantastic days skiing, with more snow predicted towards the end of the week also along with breaks of sunshine throughout the afternoons, definitely a week to explore the tree runs and hidden routes all over the 4 valleys area. The next few days look set for light snowfall from Wednesday all the way through too Friday, with breaks of sunshine in parts
