Verbier Snow Report, 05 Mar 2010
Although there has been limited snowfall this week, the low temperatures and quiet pistes have meant the slopes are still in great condition. However, the snowfall on yesterday has produced some fresh powder and has topped up the pistes nicely.
The snow height at Verbier 1500m is approx 20cm. Higher at 2200m the snow depth is approx 150cm and at the top at 2950m there is 180cm of snow.
A dump of snow fell yesterday topping up the snow throughout the 4 Valleys region.
The pistes have been bashed a lot more recently, keeping them fast and firm under the ski.
The sun has been accompanied by low temperatures this week. This along with relatively low snowfall has not degraded the slopes, which are still in great condition. This is the case for the whole of resort from the top all the way down to the bottom.
A bright and clear Friday is set to be followed by snowfall starting Saturday afternoon and continuing throughout the weekend. Temperatures are set to continue to be relatively low at around -4 at the bottom of resort.
Verbier is now preparing itself for the next stage of the Freeride World Tour which will move to Verbier March 20th.
