Val Thorens Snow Report, 24 Mar 2010
Even with these snow depths, there has been a lack of snowfall in Val Thorens, but the piste bashers have been working really hard, and the pistes are in great shape! As we get later into the season, the sun has been out more and more, and have experienced temperatures as high as +4⁰! That’s T-shirt weather! We’re due a massive snow fall from Wednesday evening until Sunday, so we will make sure not to miss out and go down to the lower locations like: Saint Martin in the Belleview valley, Meribel Village in the Meribel Valley, and La Praz and La Tania in the Courchevel Valley once the snow is here and they’re in better condition.
We have had freeze and thaw conditions (+1⁰c on Tuesday morning, -8⁰’c Tuesday night) with light winds.
We’ve got all the competitions this week, starting with the European Cup and French Cup Ski Cross. We have the ‘GB 73’ snow park competitions on Friday, and this week we have two of the top French half pipe snowboarders messing around in Val Thorens Snow Park! So pop up there and check them out! And as usual all the adrenaline pumping activities, like the night time toboggan run, the mountain biking on snow, and the ice driving academy.
