Val Thorens snow report 22.01.2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Val Thorens
There is 240cm of snow at the top of the Val Thorens ski area with 120cm in resort. The last snowfall was yesterday with 5cm falling.
There are 78 of the 80 runs open and all 30 of Val Thorens lifts are open.
A fresh snowfall of 10cm greeted Val Thorens this weekend ensuring that throughout the resort and down to Les Menuires, the snow is once again in excellent condition. I would recommend heading over to Orelle to experience the most superior powder skiing in resort.
The weather is set to remain cool over the next few days with temperatures reaching a low of -28 Tuesday afternoon and rarely dipping above 0. Fortunately, we are promised an afternoon of sunshine today with clear sunny weather predicted for most of Wednesday and Thursday. Clouds will intermittently appear however wind levels are expected to lighten.
Wednesday is shaping up to be quite a spectacle in resort with a free giant table football match rolling out in Place de Caron at 4pm. The same day, Prosneige will be hosting their weekly airbag session from 4:30pm to the left of the Castor and Palloux carpet where hot wine and chocolat chaud will be served. For those daring to refine their technique, the airbag is free to try out and all are welcome!
