Val Thorens Snow Report, 19 Mar 2010

Skier in Val ThorensThe snow depth is 175cm at the Glacier Du Bouchet 3200m and 115cm in resort at 2300m. There was a small snowfall of 1cm on Monday 15th March 2010. All 68 runs and 28 lifts are currently open.

The piste bashers have been working really hard this week and as a result the pistes are in great shape! As we get later into the season, the sun has been out more and more, and have experienced temperatures as high as +4⁰C! (It’s nearly T-shirt and salopettes weather!)

A light covering of new snow is forecast, most falling on Sunday afternoon with minor freeze and thaw conditions (+1⁰C on Friday morning and -2⁰C on Sunday night). The Wind will be generally light.

The Festi-Val Tho has been a huge success this week, and is still going! There has been a huge selection of world renowned DJs featuring at Bar 360 in the evenings.

We have the ‘Waxx’ Snow Park competitions today and all the usual adrenaline pumping activities like the night time toboggan run and the mountain biking on snow.
