Val Thorens snow report 16/04/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Val Thorens
There is 345cm of snow at the top of the Val Thorens ski area with 165cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on the 13th April with around 10cm falling.
All 150km of pistes are open in Val Thorens with 31 of the 32 lifts also open.
What a gorgeous week it has been here in Val Thorens with all the lifts and runs still open in resort, as well as to the connecting valleys, and temperatures finally soaring well above zero. There has been a palpable vibe in town of the all seasonnaires hustling and bustling around preparing for the close down of the season, a little dejected at the thought of leaving this place after a rollercoaster six month adventure. Holiday revelers are keenly soaking up the sun under 15 degree heat whilst enjoying the dazzling view of the snowy mountain tops. The hot weather is set to stay up until Friday when we are expecting snow showers continuing into the weekend, just in time to replenish the pistes for next week’s guests. For those here this week and next, make the most of the Folie Douce and Bar 360 which remain open. Enjoy a chilled drink or a boogie in the afternoons whilst taking in one of the most spectacular landscapes in the world (in my opinion anyway- I may be a little biased…).
