Val Thorens snow report 14.12.2012
The latest snow report from our team in Val Thorens
The snow at the top of the Val Thorens pistes is an incredible 230cm with an equally brilliant 150cm in resort. The last snowfall was yesterday so we have had our snow levels topped up for our guests arriving on Sunday. Val Thorens is set for a few days of sunny intervals, perfect for the final guests in resort to enjoy their last day on holiday. The snow is set to return on Sunday just in time for new guests in resort to get a fresh dump of powder!
There are 74% of runs open with 24 out of 30 lifts operating.
With the arrival of the majority of first guests fast approaching the snow conditions could not be any better. You can find over two metres at the highest point in resort and a metre and a half in resort, plenty enough to keep the snow ploughs busy! The snow is fresh and covering the pistes perfectly, meaning that there is very little ice and rock to be found, allowing boarders and skiers alike perfect conditions to shred up the pistes.
The atmosphere is electric in Val Thorens as the coming week is set to be jam packed with activities. Ski and boarder week takes place from the 15th to the 21st and is sure to have something for everyone. As if that wasn’t enough, the Ski Cross World Cup is coming to VT from the 17th to the 19th of this month which should prove to be a very exciting spectacle!
