Val Thorens Snow Report, 09 Apr 2010

Skier in Val ThorensSnow on the Glacier Du Bouchet, at 3200m is now 215cm deep and in resort, at 2300m there is 140cm.

With the just below freezing weather the snow has stayed in great condition, while having warm weather to ski in! The low winds have kept the powder off piste, and lots of people have obviously been enjoying it looking at the tracks! With some more snow lined up for next week, it’s set to be an excellent end to the season, and with a low freezing line (1200-1400m) the whole valley is able to be enjoyed!

Weather forecast for next 3 days:

A dusting of new snow. Freeze-thaw conditions (max 3’c Saturday afternoon, min -9’c Friday night). Generally calm winds.

A GB 73 amateur snowpark competition is well worth watching, or even competing in! A firework display next week, and a multi-activity challenge is a chance to try telemark, snowshoeing or even human curling. And as usual all the adrenaline pumping activities, like the night time toboggan run, the mountain biking on snow, and the ice driving academy.
