Val Thorens snow report 05.02.2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Val Thorens.
There is 310cm of snow at the top of the Val Thorens ski area with 180cm in resort. The last snowfall was on Monday when 3cm fell.
All 80 ski runs are open in Val Thorens with all 30 of the ski lifts open also.
For the very first time this season we have over THREE metres of snow resting at the top peak of Val Thorens. Despite temperatures reaching as low as -15 the skiing is still close to perfect. Many of the locals have commented that they can’t recall there being this much snow within the last decade. The weather forecast for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday promises to bring even more snow and we are looking at a record breaking February in terms of snowfall. At the highest peak in resort, the top of the Cime de Caron telesiege, Free Ride Café are offering free Bordeaux wine tasting from 11am onwards and all are welcome. For those daring enough to try out the 6km tobogganing run, there is a special twilight session held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings between 5 and 6pm this week. Hilarity will ensue!
