Val Thorens snow report 01/02/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Val Thorens
There is 250cm of snow at the top of the Val Thorens ski area with 135cm in resort. The last snowfall was yesterday with 10cm falling.
All 80 of the ski runs in Val Thorens are open with all 30 of the ski lifts are open.
Over the past two nights, a generous helping of 20cm of snow has landed in resort with more snowfall expected today, setting up the slopes nicely for new guests arriving this weekend. Saturday will bring even more snow and temperatures are predicted to drop to -14. We are expecting a ‘blue bird’ day on Sunday with conditions remaining cool however pure sunshine expected all day. Furthermore, Monday will be mostly sunny weather with a few bouts of clouds in the afternoon. We are anticipating visibility to be poor on Saturday due to the snow forecast therefore it is advisable to head down to lower ground such as Les Menuires or Saint Martin where conditions should be much clearer. Saturday and Sunday brings the “European Cup Slopestyle Snowboard” competition to Val Thorens with some of the best snowboarders in France descending on the snowpark. Come on down any time from 12:50pm to check out a display of extraordinary talent.
