Val d Isere Snow Report, 30 Mar 2010

Val d'IsèreThe snow reaches a depth of 195cm at the top of the Pissaillas glacier and 110cm on the lower slopes of Val and it’s snowing now!

The middle of last week started to see conditions which were too warm to preserve the snow but the temperatures dropped towards the weekend and the snow fell by the bucketload!

This very welcome snowfall has freshened up the base-layer both on and off piste and yet again provided the fantastic high altitude skiing that the Espace Killy is so famous for. The snow on the glacier is as pristine as ever and particular favourite runs this week are ‘Pyramides’ and ‘Petit Bois’ above Le Fornet – these cruisy blues are perfect for enjoying some long lost powder!

More snowfall is expected but temperatures are set to remain at a comfortable level so there is plenty more Spring skiing to be had. The skies should clear later in the week and everyone can enjoy this great fresh powder!

The end of the season is nigh and energy levels in resort are high as everyone is making the most of the last few weeks of the season! The sales in the shops are starting so people are scoping out some end of season deals, a new jacket, some gloves, a new pair of skis perhaps…?
