Val d’Isere snow report 25.12.2012
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Val d’Isere
The snow at the top of the La Grande Motte is 240cm with 165cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on the 22nd with more snow forecast for the next three days.
There are 79% of the runs open and 42 of the 26 lifts are open.
Merry Christmas one and all! The resort is buzzing with festive joy. Val d’Isere welcomed in Christmas Eve with perfectly groomed pistes, beautiful sunshine and cotton wool clouds hanging over the mountain range, we really couldn’t have asked for more. Temperatures this week have been steadily mounting, allowing guests to enjoy a mid morning hot chocolate while soaking up the rays on the slopes – heavenly!
Christmas Day itself is expected to remain clear with a few snowflakes falling towards the end of the afternoon – just in time for the arrival of Father Christmas!
Light snow showers towards the end of the week will ensure the pistes are kept as fresh as possible without impeding visibility for those wishing to see as much of the Espace Killy as possible.
Our husky dogs have been working hard showing guests around the valley on their sleds and others have been experimenting with seeing the resort from as many different perspectives as possible – from trying out snow shoeing to attempting the more adventurous parapenting.
