Val d’Isere Snow Report 20 Mar 2012

Val d'Isère, FranceA good 20cm fell from Sunday through to Monday and now the upper slopes of the Espace Killy have a 212cm base and in resort there’s 128cm.

Prolonged snowfall over Sunday night and throughout Monday has covered the whole Espace Killy in a powdery blanket of fresh snow. The pistes are now in excellent condition, the off piste is a dream to ski, and the resort of Val d’Isère looks like a winter wonderland. The skies are now clear, providing excellent visibility to enjoy the fresh new snow. Skiers of all abilities should venture over to “zone tranquile” in the Val d’Isère ski area. Beginners, and anyone looking for a relaxed ski, can enjoy cruising the wide open  gentle green runs, whereas anyone looking for an adrenaline rush can drop off the back of zone tranquile  to discover a virtually untouched off piste route that takes you all the way back down to resort!

More snow will fall tonight before brightening up tomorrow and for the rest of the week.

Any female snowboarders out there who fancy themselves to be the next Jenny Jones (UK X games athlete) should venture over to Val Park and enter the “Queen of ValPark” freestyle competition hosted by Roxy. This free-to-enter contest is sure to be fun for any participants or spectators!
