Val d’Isere snow report 18.01.2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Val d’Isere.
There is 270cm of snow at the top of the Val d’Isere ski area with 128cm in resort. The last snowfall was yesterday with a nice amount coming down.
96% of the runs are open with 45 of the 46 ski lifts open.
A couple of fantastic days of sunshine on Wednesday and Thursday has meant that everyone has been able to take advantage of the best pistes on the mountain, although some eye-wateringly low temperatures has proven that wrapping up warm has been a must.
Off the Madeleine Express, the Arcelles run has been absolutely brilliant – perfect powder, sheltered from the elements and forgotten about by most tourists, it’s easy to spend an entire afternoon exploring this gently meandering descent.
Heavy snow forecast over the weekend has left everyone in resort in a state of heightened anticipation for fresh powder for the week to come, conditions are only set to get ever more spectacular.
