Val d’Isere snow report 11.12.2012
The latest snow report from our team in Val d’Isere
The snow has been falling in Val d’Isere and there is now an amazing 180cm on La Grande Motte (3656m) and 140cm in resort!
At the moment 46% of the run in Val d’Isere are open with 64/89 lifts open.
High winds and snowy conditions unfortunately meant that yesterday many more of the lifts were closed than usual. The Rep team and our guests were undeterred, however, and set up off the mountain to enjoy a few runs before conditions became too difficult to navigate and we all, guests and reps alike, succumbed to the delicious aroma of hot chocolates emanating from the cafe La Sana.
The heavy snow that fell during the day yesterday and the continuing snow showers falling throughout last night should mean that runs that have felt slightly choppier towards the end of the afternoons will have been restored to first class slopes.
A refreshing breeze will ensure that the patches of blue sky apparent on Tuesday morning will turn into brighter sunshine throughout the day, transforming the mountainside into idyllic alpine panoramas for enjoying a spot of lunch on the piste.
Val d’Isere By Night premieres this evening in some of the resort’s most celebrated bars – we’re all very excited to see our guests getting well and truly orientated in Val village!
