Such a beautiful week for everyone in Val d’Isere, although rumours have it, between thirty and seventy centimetres of snow await us over the next few days… High winds towards the second part of this week means that there is a risk of some of the larger lifts closing. Top Tips for Peak Season: Avoiding the busier runs towards the liaison with Tignes, it’s well worth taking on the stomach-flipping “up-and-over” lift to Le Fornet from Solaise in the other direction, where plenty of unspoilt off-piste skiing is on offer, as well quieter gentler runs that meander their way through the trees. Be sure to stop off at the gloriously located Eidelweiss restaurant, nestled in at the side of a sun kissed piste just before the Le Fornet Telecabine. Plenty of terrace space to sit outside on sunny days, this hidden gem also has a gorgeous cosy restaurant with more than enough members of staff on hand to provide a service that excels beyond most in the Alps.
