Val d Isere Snow Report, 02 Mar 2010
The pistes have benefited greatly from the huge dump of snow we had at the back end of last week and waking up today to a bluebird morning was an ideal treat to enjoy all the wonderful snow. Temperatures are a lot more palatable this week, sitting just below freezing at night, which means the snow is being very well preserved up on the top of the pistes. There is some fantastic off-piste skiing to be done around resort! More blue skies are predicted this week so we can all look forward to some fantastic skiing on the pristinely groomed runs!
A mixture of sunshine and snow showers is predicted for this week which should make for some perfect conditions. Most of the snow is set to fall overnight which will make a reality of every skier’s dream of waking up to clear skies and fresh powder!
The torch-lit descent this week is set to run in La Daille which will make a change from the normal descent in the centre of town – one not to be missed! Playstation 3 is also doing their Winter Tour and there are large inflatable tents on the snow front – inviting anyone to go and try their hand at the latest games. The Winter Olympics have set everyone in a very good mood and we all cannot wait until the winter X Games hit Tignes on the 10-12th March!
