Val d’Isère | A Diamond in the Alps

VDI Fact SheetWelcome to the first in our mini-series of blog posts covering this beautiful, traditional resort.

Nestled away in the Tarentaise Valley, Rhône-Alpes (France), is the internationally-famed resort of Val d’Isère. Forming the Espace Killy alongside its partner in crime Tignes, this resort is home to ultra high skiing, high-tech ski lift systems and guaranteed snow on the Pissaille Glacier.

When you get to your resort, the resort staff will know the ins and outs of the runs available to you. If you’re keen, you could even get them to point out their favourite spots on a piste map. With a number of Blue (90), Red (40) and Black (26) runs available, there’s plenty for all levels in the resort. Don’t even get us started on the off-piste potential within the Espace Killy ski area – it is sublime. Simply, perfect.

It is not even limited to shredding the powder on your snowboard or skis.

Once the day is done, your legs are only just supporting your weight and you’ve got a bigger smile on your face than a child on Christmas day, then it’s time to head out to the partially-pedestrianised resort centre to hit the après. You might be surprised to learn that the world-class resort of Val d’Isère continues to boast an attractive ‘old’ village with a sensitive development using ‘traditional’ materials: stone, wood and slate to name but a few.

With 147 shops, 13 bars/clubs and plenty of other facilities besides, Val d’Isère is an absolute diamond in the Alps.

Speaking of diamonds, have you had a chance to explore our latest property addition, the 5 Diamond Platinum Chalet Hotel “Le Savoie”?

Situated at the heart of the resort, a mere stone’s throw away from a number of lifts, the Chalet Hotel Le Savoie is, indeed, a truly elegant addition to our properties in Val d’Isère.

Le Savoie boasts a range of attractions; including a spa and indoor pool area, in-house ski rentals and five course dinner (6 nights per week). The rooms are not simply rooms, either. It really is the suite-life with #LeSavoie, too.

Don’t take our word for it, though. Watch the all-new video below showing the Chalet Hotel in all of its glory. Head over to our dedicated Chalet Hotel Le Savoie page too for further information, prices and travelling dates.
