Tignes snow report 28.12.2012

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Tignes

There is 240cm of snow at the top of the ski area and 125cm in the resort of Tignes. The last snowfall was 10cm which came down yesterday.

There are 54of the 78 lifts open and 110 of the 178 runs are open.

Christmas week here in Tignes has been very snowy. On Christmas Eve our guests enjoyed watching the torchlight descent of the piste Trolles and the children had their photo taken with Santa Claus on his snowy throne. In Tignes le Lac there was a great festival atmosphere.

On Christmas day we skied down to Les Brevieres through snowy trees and hidden valleys. This picturesque little village is tucked away down in the valley bottom, giving a long smooth descent down from Tignes le Lac.

The views from the top of the Grand Motte glacier yesterday were amazing. The dramatic mountain landscape stretched off into the horizon giving breath taking views. We had the pistes all to ourselves as we began the long descent over the glacier and back down to town. All of this reminding us exactly how lucky we were to be in Tignes.
