Tignes Snow Report, 26 Mar 2010

TignesThere is 165cms at the top of the Grande Motte and 110cms on the lower slopes of Tignes and all runs and lifts are open.

Whilst many resorts maybe suffering, Tignes is not. Snow pack is still well over a metre deep even at resort level! With so much snow, and more coming down right now, the conditions blow other resorts out of the water completely. The temperatures are fantastic, the sun is coming out very regularly, allowing for top ups of snow just as and when we need them. It’s as if Tignes has a stop clock that flicks onto snow mode at regular intervals, just to keep the longest season in the Alps going even longer!

For the next 3 days, over the weekend, we have plenty of snow coming to top up the already fantastic conditions on the mountain. Although snow levels may have retreated a tiny amount, they shall no doubt be topped up over the next few days with the help of the heavy dumping, of nearly a foot of snow that we are currently receiving.

End of season sales are a plenty at the moment, with many shops offering as much as 40% off on all their products, sometimes more! And who can complain when end of season sales are on, when the snow is as good as it is in Tignes!
