Tignes Snow Report 22/03/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Tignes
There is 310cm of snow at the top of the Tignes ski area with 134cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on 20th March with around 10cm falling.
There are 289km of pistes open in the Tignes ski area with 87% ski lifts open.
Over the last two days visitors to Tignes have been treated to amazing freestyle ski and snowboard performances as part of the winter X games. Tignes Val Claret has been the setting for this amazing competition with the breath taking slope style course and the super pipe. Professionals from around the world have come to Tignes to participate in this world famous competition.
Yesterday was the perfect day in Tignes, with pistes in excellent condition thanks to recent snowfall and scorching hot sun all day long. Crowds gathered on the snow next to the Double M piste to marvel at the acrobatic jumps
and skills of the skiers. The mild evening and lack of wild ensured perfect viewing conditions for the ski super pipe competition. Crowds gathered on the side of the super pipe were able to view skiers flying through the air right in front of them, amazed by their tricks and skill. All in all it has been a great few days in Tignes, and with more snow forecast, the last few weeks of the season are sure to bring even more fabulous skiing.
