Tignes snow report 14.12.2012
The latest snow report from our team in Tignes
At the top of the Tignes ski area there is 185cm with 90cm of snow in resort. The last snow came down on Monday with 10cm. Over the next week there is an amazing 90cm due to fall!
This has been an action packed week for everyone in Tignes. Yesterday we had the opportunity to try some of the activities that our ski school, Evolution 2, offer to our guests. In the morning a group of us were whisked away in a helicopter for a birds eye view of the resort. As we enjoyed the spectacular views of the snowy mountains, the pilot dipped and dived over the pistes to shrieks of excitement.
This week we have also had our staff Christmas party where the resort manager and rep team served a Christmas dinner to 80 staff in Chalet Cornice. We decorated the tree, layered out row upon row of crackers and let off party poppers. Everyone was in high spirits.
On the rep day off, we enjoyed the snowy pistes all day long which are still in fantastic condition. As we zoomed around the resort in and out of bursts of sunshine we discovered new lifts, new pistes and new mountain views. We journeyed down into the the Val D’Isere valley and the small town of La Daille where they are preparing for an international ski competition.
In the evening we were invited to Braseros restaurant in Lavachet to sample the famous cheese dishes of the region, Fondue and Raclette. However the food did not stop there; it was a major feast as the waitress brought out plate upon plate of salad, garlic bread, chips and meats. It was a superb dining experience. All in all it has been an excellent week here in Tignes.
