Tignes snow report 11.12.2012
The latest snow report from our team in Tignes
There is a good amount of snow on the top of the pistes with 140cm and a further 110cm on the lower pistes. The forecast is for another 31 cm over the next 9 days to add to the 65cm we’ve had in the past week, including 15cm on Monday.
Snow conditions in Tignes continue to be excellent. Yesterday, during our first ski hosting session with guests we enjoyed the long, smooth and soft pistes all day with a couple of stops in mountain cafes for hot chocolate. Today the mist is clearing and a patch of blue sky sits over the Aero ski and Palafour lifts; people are hurrying to catch
first lifts to enjoy another splendid day on the slopes.
After having lived in several towns across France in the last couple of years, I have befriended many French people. However, no where have I had such a welcome then in Tignes. In the last couple of days the rep team have met restaurant owners, ski schools, shop owners and bar owners. Everybody is exceptionally friendly. This is certainly
starting to feel like home for the entire team.
The pavements in Tignes le Lac are still covered in a thick layer of snow, as we walk around town, busily organising après ski events for guests. Last night there was a quiz at the Alpaka lodge and tonight I will be offering a wine tasting event in a local bar. With the perfect snow conditions in Tignes and the wonderful atmosphere, both guests and staff alike can agree that the start of the start has been fantastic.
