Tignes Snow Report, 09 Mar 2010

Chalet Atlas, TignesThe snow depth is 198cms at the top of the Grande Motte and 126cms on the lower slopes of Tignes.

As predicted, we kicked off Monday with a glorious day of bright sunshine with no clouds at all. The snow on the slopes was soft and smooth with no icy patches, carving up the mountain was fantastic as the reps and their guests went down to Val Claret and up the funicular to the Glacier, where spectacular views and almost no wind at all greeted them at the top. The day was spent enjoying wide open easy skiing and everyone finished on a very happy note.

This morning has started again with bright sunshine, and as the sun climbs the sky, golden sunlight licks the face of the Espace Killy mountainside once again. The next two days are predicted to bring with them a top up of snow, which is always helpful and no doubt will continue to maintain the always perfect pistes in Tignes.

In Tignes this week, people are talking about only one thing, You guessed it! The first ever European Winter X-Games. With the course now fully set up and the half pipe groomed to perfection, excitement is electric and teams of people are beginning to arrive in resort to compete for the grand prize.
