Tignes snow report 08/02/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Tignes
There is 300cm of snow at the top of the Tignes ski area with around 145cm in resort. The last snowfall was yesterday with around 10cm falling in resort.
290km of pistes are open in the Tignes ski area with 78 of the 89 ski lifts also open.
This week the snowfall has been non stop throughout the Espace Killy. Everyday we have skied in beautiful snowy conditions. Every piste, every slope and every mountain top has a thick layer of fantastic snow, giving wonderful conditions for skiing on and off piste. Every skier who has visited the resort this week has been treated to soft and smooth pistes throughout the ski area. As for ourselves, yesterday the sun made some brief appearances for us. The black piste of épaule du charvet was bathed in glorious sunshine as we skied on down into Val D’isere. Other highlights of the day was the red piste of Germain Mattis which winds its way down through snowy trees into the little village of Le Laisinant. All in all it was a superb day on the slopes. And as the snowfall continues on into the weekend we will be looking forward to many more similar days, full of snow and perfect skiing.
