Tignes Snow Report 05/03/2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Tignes

There is 283cm of snow at the top of the Tignes ski area with 138cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on  28th Feb with around 5cm falling.

There are 267km of pistes open in the Tignes ski area with 64 out of 89 ski lifts open.

We have just had a beautifully sunny weekend here in the Espace Killy where guests and staff have been enjoying the summery skies, warm temperatures and excellent pistes with plenty of time for sunbathing on the terraces of the mountain cafés. However now the clouds are moving in as we are expecting some fresh snowfall in the next few days which will top up the pistes and ensure excellent skiing for the rest of the season. As always in Tignes, there is plenty going on and today the resort will welcome a special event. Tonight there will be the Full Moon Freeride competition where the best freeriders from around the world will be making a night time descent of the fingers which are the steep and rocky gullies that loom above the frozen lake. People will gather next to the ice rink to enjoy this spectacle while drinking free hot wine and chocolate. It’s sure to be an amazing event, Tignes always has some exciting to offer its visitors.
