Tignes snow report 01.01.2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Tignes

The snow at the top of the Tignes ski area is 240cm with 125cm on the lower pistes. The last snowfall was 35cm on the 27th December.

There are 56 of the 58 lifts open for use.

The Town is still buzzing with excitement after the massive success of the party on the piste for New Years Eve last night!  The evening started with a stunning torchlight descent  by the ESF instructors of Tignes down the black run Trolles.  Later on Adrien Toma started the warm up for the Fire Mix party to get everyone going for the countdown by which point thousands of people had taken over the piste with such excitement and full of energy. The countdown to midnight was spectacular with champagne bottles popping all over, the magnificent fireworks display and the start of Martin Solveig taking over the fire party.  All this just adds to how spectacular Tignes is at the moment with the pistes still fantastic with snow and the last 3 days straight of beautiful blue skies.  The Grande Motte cable car is fully operating to get you high to the best snow Tignes has to offer and everyone has more gorgeous clear days to look forward to during the rest of the week.
