Throughout the course of today, the weather will significantly improve. The lower temperatures expected for Friday will increase towards Saturday. Saturday is expected to be clear, with long sunny spells. These are forecast to stay with us throughout the remaining days of the year. Despite these improved conditions, the temperatures will continue to fluctuate, ranging from -1 degrees on Saturday to a low of -10 degrees on Sunday afternoon. For New Years Eve milder temperatures are forecast. We will celebrate the new year with more snowfall at night on new year’s day.
The Christmas period brought with it an onset of warm weather in St Anton which made the area a pleasure to ski in. The snow started again last night and has begun to settle. This dusting of fresh snow will cover up any icy patches on the slopes and make for some excellent skiing. The Rendl area is in fantastic condition and provides the opportunity to really generate some speed, particularly on the home run into town. Tomorrow is expected to be sunny and clear, allowing skiers to capture the panoramic views from the mountain tops for miles around. The stars will be shining bright and the moon glistening off the pisted slopes on Saturday night. The clear night sky means a drop in temperatures so ensure to have plenty of layers on for a full day of skiing on Sunday.
On the 27th of December the Wiltener boy’s choir will be performing a concert in the great Arlbergsaal Hall. The choir’s history dates back to the 13th century and the 160 members will join in unison to create a beautiful festive end to the year.
A spectacular ski show breaks St Anton into the new year. Guests will be able to take a trip back in time through the history of skiing and watch in amazement at the sports transition through the ages. The show blasts into action from the stadium on December 30th and includes a magical fireworks display. Furthermore, admission is completely free. This spectacle is one not to be missed!
