Here is the latest snow report from our team in St Anton
There is 255cm of snow at the top of the St Anton ski area with 75cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on 20th March with around 6cm falling.
There are 93% of pistes open in the St Anton ski area with 95% ski lifts open.
Weather over the past several days has been varied with many different weather patterns coming through. Tuesday was a bizarre day to say the least with Galzig being overcast in the morning followed by glorious sunshine throughout the day culminating in a blizzard near the end of the day! With the sun still managing to show through, seasonnaires as still working on that goggle tan!
The Arlberg has enjoyed fair amount of snowfall over the past several weeks which is putting the slopes in a good condition for the remainder of the season that we have left. With this flurry of snowfall many off piste routes have been restored to their former glory resulting in many a keen skier taking the plunge and going off piste. Several areas such as Rendle and slightly further a field still have un-tracked routes which is well worth the experience for those willing to search them out. The pistes on both sides of St Anton as well as the other connected areas are in fantastic condition with piste bashers struggling to get them groomed on time for first lift. Lots of the icey patches that were beginning to show through have now gone resulting in perfect skiing throughout the day.
Schneetreiben – The Snow Must Go On ski show continues to dazzle on a Wednesday evening with many children and adults in attendance. The ski show takes place at the World Cup stadium, visitors experience a multi-media time travel show through the history of skiing and how St Anton and the Arlberg have influenced skiing as we know it today. A fantastic event for one and all, our chefs in our chalets are more than happy to start dinner earlier during your visit so that you can experience event!
