St Anton Snow Report, 19 Mar 2010
The recent snowfall has added to the already excellent skiing conditions in St Anton. The warmer weather has also kept the snow fresh however due to the warm conditions the snow at bottom of the mountain can get a little slushy late in the day.
Snow depths are good with 250cm at the top of Valluga and 70cm in resort.
Fantastic skiing can be found all over the St Anton and the Arlberg region. Perhaps some of the best snow and conditions can be found on the Rendl Mountain. There are excellent pisted runs and also some fantastic off piste as well. Rendl Mountain also receives the morning sun so it is a great place to go for first lifts.
Perhaps in the afternoon consider the Schindlergratbahn. Once at the top there is a great piste running all the way down into Stuben. This is a firm favourite as it consists of great piste and fun off piste conditions.
Blue skies with the occasional cloud can be expected for the next couple of days in St Anton. This is due to be followed by light snow showers on Sunday. The bright sun should create beautiful days for skiing
This Sunday sees the annual “Bewegt im Schnee” event. There will be a volleyball match in the snow, a creative cocktail contest and a big ski festival. If you are interested in mountain rescue training the mountain rescue team will also give interesting insights to their work.
Throughout the rest of the week there are always the Mooserwirt and Krazy Kangaruh après ski bars which always offer great entertainment.
