Solden snow report 29.01.2013

Here is the latest snow report from our team in Solden

There is 208cm of snow at the top of the Solden ski area with 20cm in resort. The last snowfall was yesterday with around 3cm falling on the glacier.

100% of the runs are open in Solden with 31 of the 35 ski lifts open also.

After some snow showers throughout the day, the cloud will be clearing into tomorrow and the sun is coming out, raising temperatures dramatically to above freezing at mid-station!! The sun will stay out into Thursday morning, but temperatures will be a little lower, and the clouds will close in towards the end of the day, bringing yet more snow on Friday.

With a big dump of snow yesterday, the slopes have had a nice top up, though by the end of the day the fresh snow was getting quite lumpy on the busier slopes – so get the first lifts to make fresh tracks in the fresh powder off piste and the freshly bashed perfect snow conditions on piste! The lingering cloud today is affecting visibility – so make sure you get your low light goggles on for more definition. The sun is trying its best to push through so there are chances of sunny spells later! Temperatures are a lot milder with freezing level at mid station!

If you’re looking for something with more of an authentic, Austrian feel, then why not have lunch at Loiple Alm, off Blue 2, where a traditional folk trio in Lederhosen will serenade you while you’re enjoying the spectacular view from their sun terrace! Why not carry on the Tyroleon atmosphere at Eugen’s Obstler Huette with live music from 3pm.

Tonight LIVE bar has live band playing from 9:30pm – Verena and the hot socks. So if you fancy a chilled out evening then head there!

Tomorrow is of course, the weekly Maxxx Mountain Night Ski Show from 7:30pm at the middle station of the Gaislachkogl gondola. Funk/pop band, Groove AG, are taking the stage to get the crowds into the groove!
