Solden Snow Report 15/02/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Solden
There is 250cm of snow at the top of the Solden ski area with 25cm in resort. There was a light dusting of snow today, around 2cm falling at the top of the pistes.
All 40 of the Solden ski runs are open with 31 of the 35 ski lifts also open today.
The clouds are forecast to linger all day today and the snow is to get heavier, bringing a total of 6cm by tomorrow morning. The light snow is to continue into tomorrow, being a little lighter than today, before finally easing off by Sunday. Bright sunshine on Sunday will be short-lived, however, with the clouds closing in again in the afternoon. Early next week is to be brighter, with sunshine on Monday.
The clouds are lingering today, bringing a sprinkling of snow and touching up the snow on-piste. Slopes have busied up this week with the Dutch and German half term holidays starting, so lifts can be a little congested and the pistes are getting quite churned up by the end of the day. Head out early to beat the queues and get the freshly groomed slopes!!
Friday means another Maxxx Mountain Soelden Party at the Giggijoch, with disco funk band, Mango Deluxe, taking to the Stage to entertain the skiers and après-skiers. With hits from a Range of genres including dance, pop, funk and soul – definitely Pop by to soak in the atmosphere!
If that gets you in the apres-ski mood then why not carry on the party in town – stopping off at Kuck Kuck at the bottom of the Giggijoch, with a prominent Bird-theme, shots in egg-shells are a must! Then further along the Road, Shirm Bar at the Hotel Liebe Sonne, is always good for Dance and sing-a-long to all your favourite apres-ski hits, and also one of the places you can try your hand at the infamous Austrian ‘Hammer And Nail’ game!
