Solden snow report 15.01.2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Solden
There is 209cm of snow at the top of the Solden ski area and 10cm in resort. It is currently snowing in resort with a few cm falling today.
All 37 of the runs are open with 29 of the 33 lifts open also.
The light snow is forecast to continue for the next few days, but it should brighten up by the end of the week. Snow will be heaviest over night tonight with around 6cm of snow. Temperatures are staying very low with a minimum of minus 20 degrees Celsius on the glacier on Wednesday! Wind is staying generally light.
Snow has been falling steadily since yesterday and has made a big difference to the snow quality on the slopes with lovely soft snow to cover up the icy patches which were appearing last week in the warm spell. Temperatures are a lot lower this week too so the snow is staying in very good condition for longer. Although there is light snow, the cloud is staying high with patches of blue sky so the visibility on the slopes is good and the sun is trying its hardest to come out!
Tonight at Phillip’s German party singer Ina Colada will be getting the après-ski party started, having had numerous chart hits in Germany – so it’s a definite must if you’re après-ing this afternoon!! Things are heating up at the Night Ski Show tomorrow with live band, Neuland performing at the mid-station of the Gaislachkogl gondola with a mixture of pop/rock covers of all the classics. Also tomorrow the Heidealm on blue run number 2 is celebrating 10 years with Tyroleon trio the Alpentornados from 2pm.
