Solden Snow Report 09/04/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Solden
There is 271cm of snow at the top of the Solden ski area with 10cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on 9th April with around 4cm falling.
There are 100% of pistes open in the Solden ski area with 83% ski lifts open.
Today is forecasted for more snow, despite the blue skies this morning, with a total of 8cm to fall by tomorrow morning! It will be bright again tomorrow, with the odd chance of snow showers. The clouds will linger into Thursday, bringing light snow, and being heaviest on Thursday evening into Friday morning. Temperatures are around minus 4 degrees Celsius at mid-station until Thursday when it will rise a good 4/5 degrees – these milder temperatures are sticking around until early next week too! It will be a little breezy up there too, but it won’t affect the wind-chill too much!
Waking up this morning, it seems that Winter is back, with snowfall overnight there is snow on the trees and a dusting on the ground at resort level, which means even more up on the ski area! However, the snow clouds of yesterday are no-where to be seen this morning and the sun is blazing, which means ideal conditions on the slopes!! Temperatures are staying below freezing as well at mid-station, which is good news for the snow – at resort level it’s a few degrees warmer, so the wintery picture might be short-lived!
