Solden Snow Report 02/04/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Solden
There is 280 cm of snow at the top of the Solden ski area with 10cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on 1st April with around 1cm falling.
There are 100% of pistes open in the Solden ski area with 91% ski lifts open.
Bright sunshine in the mornings is forecasted to continue for the next few days. The clouds are set to close in a little in the afternoon, bringing some light snow showers. The weather is to close in on Friday, but at this time of year it can be unpredictable – so whether the snow falls we will have to wait and see!! Temperatures are staying below freezing up at mid-station with lows of minus 4 degrees Celsius, but it will be around 6 degrees cooler on the glacier.
The sun is shining in Soelden which is making conditions glorious! The temperatures have dropped significantly over the past couple of days, which is good news for the snow, as the new snow that fell on Saturday night is sticking around a lot longer than usual at this time of year! The glacier is still offering the best snow quality, still with some untracked powder off-piste! The lower slopes are getting sticky by the end of the day – so there’s no shame in downloading on the gondolas to avoid the lumpy sugary home runs!
The Electric Mountain Festival is in full swing this week with Tuesday and Wednesday both featuring guests DJs ‘Beats4education’ up at the Giggijoch Fun-zone from 1pm until 4:30pm. Today is DJs Tube & Berger, Juliet Sikora and Wild Culture and tomorrow Wild Culture make a re-appearance along with AKA AKA. Thursday is Dutch electro-house DJ, Hardwell’s Turn. So if you’re a house music fan and looking for something a little different then it’s well worthwhile dropping by – especially since the sun is out this week!
