Selva – Snow Report, 26 Mar 2010

SelvaThe snow depth is 172cm at the top of the Marmolada and 40cm on the lower Sella Ronda runs.

It’s definitely a time for morning skiing at the moment and the early birds are heading out for first lifts. The north facing areas and slopes are in the best conditions, so heading out towards Corvara and Arabba seems to be a popular choice for many. That said, in the areas closer to home the runs are still in good condition and you even get the chance to perfect your mogul skiing technique at the end of the day!

The past few days have been rather sunny so many have been enjoying the best conditions in the morning, then heading to a mountain hut in the afternoon, soaking up the sun and enjoying a relaxing end to the day. Jimmys, Las Vegas and Piz Seller have all been lively and popular with the sun worshipers!

Ski Hosting last week had a fantastic turnout and the gorgeous weather made for some great days!

A light covering of snow is set to fall on Friday; mainly in the evening. Temperatures will be below freezing, with the freeze level decreasing over the next day or so(max -2°C on Thu night, min -11°C on Fri night). There will be a strong wind on Friday afternoon but this should settle down and be much calmer on Friday night.

Town has been enjoying the lovely weather in the village this week. Tables outside restaurants have been full all day long and there has been a happy atmosphere in the air!

Thursday night saw an ice show at the ice rink, and play offs for the ice hockey also take place this week
