Selva – Snow Report, 09 Apr 2010

Family SkiingThere is a good base of 156cm snow at the top of the Marmolada with 30cm on the lower Sella Ronda slopes.

The last few days of the season certainly are not disappointing! With some great snow still to be found at the top of the mountain it really will be a shame when the lifts close. Whilst temperatures in town have been rising slowly and we’ve been having some gloriously sunny days, it has been cooling right down overnight, giving the best conditions first thing in the morning. Later afternoon legs are getting a workout with the moguls but if you’re a fan, well then – you’ll be loving it!!

A dusting of new snow over the next few days is due and temperatures will cool back down and be below freezing (max 0°C on Fri morning, min -10°C on Sat night). Wind will be generally light.

The end of season parties are upon us – Saltos brings us their annual “Goodbye Winter; Hello Summer” party, with its Hawaiian theme this weekend. So we’ll need to start to dig out our grass skirts!

Many people are soaking up the late afternoon sun, Piz Setuer being a popular choice. Just make sure you get there early to grab a sun lounger!
