Selva – Snow Report, 06 Apr 2010

SkierThe snow base has a depth of110cm at the top of the Marmolada with the lower Sella Ronda slopes having 40cm.

For the end of season, conditions are superb in Selva. There are hardly any moguls in sight and that’s even at the end of the day. The sun is still shining on through, blissfully lighting up the town and the piste bashers are still working on through, managing to keep the runs in fantastic and near enough perfect condition.

Whether you are skiing the black run on the Dantercepies or heading over to Plan de Gralba off the top of the Ciampinoi, you will still be gratefully experiencing some of the best runs Selva has to offer, during the last week of its season and enjoying it immensely.

It’s going to be a real shame knowing that the runs and the area around Arabba and the Marmolada will be closing at the end of the week, despite easily being able to reach the beautiful scenery on offer, on skis!

Would you believe me if I said there was going to be some more snow on the way? Well, believe it or not, there is ! Wednesday will see the appearance of some sunshine but then light showers are due Thursday with big snow showers expected on Friday.

Temperatures will hover around 1˚ and -2˚ with a very slight wind-chill but nothing to worry about.

Wednesday sees the beginning of the Val Gardena Spring Trophy. Practicing has been going on for the past week but Wednesday will see the real thing take place. Talent from all around the Valleys will battle it out to be crowned the Spring Trophy champion. Something not to be missed and should be fantastic entertainment.
