Selva Snow Report, 01 Mar 2011

The Purple Mountains, SelvaSnow depth at the top of the ski area:   130cm on the mountain

Snow depth in resort:                                  50cm

6cm of snow fell yesterday.

On Sunday and Monday we enjoyed a FANTASTIC amount of snowfall. The pistes are now covered in thick, fluffy powder and you are almost knee-deep in snow off the piste. I just looked out the window today and now we have clear blue skies, without a cloud to be seen. From the forecast, this beautiful sunshine is set to continue, providing perfect skiing conditions for the rest of this week.

Today, I am hosting on the Sunny-side of Val Gardena, with the highlight of the day skiing La Longia- the longest run in the valley.

This week, I will also be taking 22 of my guests on our ski away day to Cortina and the Hidden Valley. After last week’s trip I received a short letter, which shows just how much my guests enjoy this excursion:

“We’ve had a great week and thank you so much for the excellent ski hosting. Cortina and the Hidden Valley were great places to ski. Thanks again and good luck for the rest of the season.”  Things like this make it all the worth the while!

Next week, on Monday, there is a Ski show on the Freina slope at 21:30. On Thursday, there is an Ice Show, performed by the Eis Club Gardena. Looking forward to them both!
