Saas Fee Snow Report 15/03/2013
Here is the latest snow report from our team in Saas Fee
There is 269cm of snow at the top of the Saas Fee ski area with 72cm of snow in resort. The last snowfall was on 13th March with around 5cm falling.
There are 100% of pistes open in the Saas Fee ski area with 100% ski lifts open.
Over the next 3 days, winds are staying relatively strong (max 25km/h) with a heavy snowfall to go with it. Fingers crossed for the 17cm of snow that’s predicted on Sunday evening to top up the already existing powder and provide an excellent 1st day skiing for our guests.
A very fresh but bitter cold start to the morning ensuring the snow is going to stay in tip top condition over the next couple of days or so. You can see many skiers and boarders have enjoyed creating fresh tracks on the off piste.
As mentioned, its very cold on the mountain and due to get colder so plenty of layers are needed and a face mask/buff to protect from the strong winds we have been faced with this week.
The visibility has been slightly hit and miss with flat light and cloud closing in. Fortunately Saas Fee has the advantage of 3 ski areas across the mountain, allowing us to avoid hitting the cloud by heading to a different section whether it be staying in the mid area around the Morenia or to the left or right side of the mountain in which case you would hop on the Spieldboden taking you to heights of 2448m or Plattjen at 2570m.
If you didn’t know already Saas Fee was voted Best Ski Resort in Switzerland. So you can be guaranteed to appreciate the high slope reliability, great slope preparation and overall cosy feeling of the resort.
