Saas Fee snow report 14.12.2012
The latest snow report from our team in Saas Fee
There is an amazing 262cm of snow at the top of the Saas Fee ski area with 8cm in resort. Saas Fee looks like it is in for a very snowy few days indeed with 35cm of fresh powder falling down on top of the excellent pack already in place for the winter.
11 runs are open with more due to open on Saturday. 305 of the lifts are open.
More and more runs are opening each day now. The piste bully team are working overtime to make sure that the runs are perfectly groomed for the grand opening of all of the resort on the 15th December. Run number 15a which is the glorious steep black run at the top of the Felskinn cable car is out of this world. Lots of really soft snow and lack of people on the piste due to it being early season really mean you can put in some huge powder turns.
For those that are excited about the amazing snowpark that Saas Fee has to offer will be pleased that shaping has started and the jumps are looking very good. For the beginners coming to Saas Fee blue run number 4b is incredible really well groomed each day and a perfect one to practice those big long sweeping carve turns.
The runs up on the glacier are in crisp condition yet a little chilly due to the time of the year. Run number 10 coming down from the glacier seems to be a big hit with those looking for a bit of speed.
The winter 12/13 piste map has just been printed and released in Saas Fee and some new additions and extended itinerary runs have been added; run number 6a which used to be a black run has now been reclassified as a yellow itinerary run. Whereas run number 13 has been extended.
